An honorable Man:Alek Skarlatos Honored As ‘Veteran Of The Game’ At 2015 World Series Game 3

The Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets may have gone head to head in Game 3 of the 2015 World Series on Oct. 30, but watching Alek Skarlatos get honored as the ‘Veteran of the Game’ was by far the most memorable moment of the night!

Alek Skarlatos, who is most famous for taking down a gunman on a train headed to Paris this past summer, was honored for his bravery during Game 3 of the 2015 World Series on Oct. 30, and it was well deserved! Alek was brought onto the field during the 2015 World Series, which saw the New York Mets take on the Kansas City Royals at Citi Field.
Alek, 23, who is currently competing on DWTS, was invited by the MLB as a guest to attend Game 3 of the World Series and he was honored. The Oregon Army National Guardsman Specialist was chosen as “Veteran of the Game.” At every home game at Citi Field, the Mets salute the “Veteran of the Game,” by presenting the honoree (Alek) with an American flag that flew over the field. Alek looked intriguing  as he held the flag. He was also accompanied by DWTS host Erin Andrews!
We really think that this was awesome and are so happy that he was honored for such an amazing thing he did when he saved a train full of people. It all happened in August of 2015 when a train, traveling from Amsterdam to Paris, was about to be taken over by a gunman. However, Alek and two Americans, along with one Brit and two men from France, stopped the gunman. Alek was awarded the US Army Soldier’s Medal and received the Legion of Honour from France.Well he deserves the honor.
